
Huffman and his wife Sharmell. Not only are they dedicated to their Houston community, but the foundation has made an impact internationally. The foundation has supported many outreach endeavors such as the patient-focused campaign efforts of the National Marrow Donor Program®, visiting US troops overseas, and considerable financial commitments to displaced Katrina victims who were relocated to Houston.
One of the immediate goals of the foundation is to build a 24-hour community center for kids. This proposed community center will feature the latest in multimedia technology and recreational activities. The youth will be engaged in sports and learning activities to provide an alternative to the negativities common in the streets of the inner city.
