See her band Le Sexoflex perform Saturday, December 1 (tomorrow!), 9 PM, at the Telephone Factory Art Show (Sister Louisa’s Gallery, 828 Ralph McGill Blvd. #106). Dana granted us a moment of her time to charm us with her thoughts on Randy Travis’s ex-gay doppelganger, the funniest person in Atlanta, and tapping ass at Dragon*Con.

Well, I’ve been an improviser since I was 15…and a not-so-shitty one for the past 3 years. I’m at Dad’s Garage every weekend doing a show or two, which you might not know since I’ve never been on a press mailer.
In other projects, I perform very little as “Dana” and a lot as, well, other people. My biggest and sexiest thing I’ve got going is providing lead vox for little band called Le Sexoflex. Why does that name sound familiar, you may ask? Well, for the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theaters Colon The Soundtrack, I co-wrote and performed the song “I Like Your Booty (But I’m Not Gay)” under the name “Insane-o-flex” – which is also the name of the film’s sinister exercise machine. If you haven’t heard that song, you’re totes missing out. We performed twice under that name: once after the movie premiere and a second time (with a new lineup) at the EARL. As we started to develop more songs, we wanted to semi-divorce ourselves from being an Adult Swim band but wanted to fully embrace the marriage of hot jazzercise and sweet, sweet sex…so the name’s now Le Sexoflex.
The most amazing thing about it is that I’ve gotten to fuck around and write and sing and beat box and hilariously choreograph songs with people I love (my writing partner Siobhan, my co-workers Drew and Matt, and the best impromptu keyboard player Mateo). Come on. Our names are Miss Lady Flex, Princess Genius, Vas D (short for Vas Deferens), Peep Peep, and Master Dong…of course it’s awesome. We rehearse in a living room for fuck’s sake.
